"ANATOLIS TO PERIECHEMA"
The publication of a musicological journal is a foundational objective of the Institute of Byzantine Musicology. The Founding Charter states: "The primary objectives of the Institute of Byzantine Musicology include: ... d) I. A scholarly journal, to be published twice or, at the very least, once a year. ..."
However, such a publication remained unfeasible until 2000. At that time, it was envisioned as a key undertaking for the newly established non-profit society "Anatolis to Periechema". The first issue -bearing the same name- was eventually published much later, in 2014. Unfortunately, the society was later forced to dissolve; consequently, the Institute of Byzantine Musicology assumed responsibility for the distribution of the first issue, as well as for the continued publication of the journal. There are promising signs that the publication will endure, and we may soon have the pleasure of seeing the second issue of "Anatolis to Periechema." May the Lord grant it!
